Model and actress Kaia Gerber appeared at Hollywood’s second Annual Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles this past weekend.
She wore a classic black Alaia mesh turtleneck top and a deep purple draped skirt. The outfit has attracted the attention of netizens. Twitter users note that the mix of Gerber’s silky, bouncy tuck-in and soft, neutral-toned style made her a living image of her mother, Cindy Crawford.
Crawford was part of “The Big Six.” The group consisted of the 1990s supermodels Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, Kate Moss, Linda Evangelista, and Claudia Schiffer.
The model’s career as one of America’s most coveted and esteemed models lasted 14 years before retiring. She officially left the glamorous light in 2000. Her daughter with American entrepreneur Rande Gerber, currently 21 Kaia Gerber, was born in September 2001 – two years following her brother Presley.
Meanwhile, it didn’t take a lot of time for Gerber to comply with her mother’s path. She shot her first marketing campaign for Versace at the age of 10 and appeared in Italian Vogue at 14. (Notably, Presley Gerber also entered the industry briefly in his teens.)
Afterward, Gerber won an awful lot of popularity from the industry. Her profession has reflected that of her famous mom in distinctive ways. They have sashayed for Versace, Chanel, Michael Kors, and Valentino. And each appeared in numerous Vogue covers.
They also starred on several covers together.
“Never in my life did I think I would have our professional lives collide like that,” Crawford said in an interview with Vogue in 2019. This is following them walking the Versace Spring-Summer 2018 runway together.
