In a section of the show that was shown on Wednesday morning, host Jennifer Hudson shared the happy news while singing. She grunted, “But we made it,” and then said, “The Jennifer Hudson Show has been renewed for season 2.”
She questioned the cheering crowd, “Don’t you want to run and shout?” as they gave her a standing ovation.
Hudson, 41, continued, “I believe that as adults, this happens to everyone of us. We never pause to consider, “This is what I prayed for, this is what I desired, and it’s happening,” because we are too busy doing other things. And accept it, “She spoke. Well, this is certainly one of those times. Prior to breaking the news, Hudson discussed her plans for 2023 and recalled her son’s prediction that this year will bring about “fresh beginnings.” 2023 was dubbed the “year of victory” by Hudson.
She said, “I’m going to try not to get too emotional on y’all today. “I’m just considering this year so far,” the speaker said.
She commended the viewers as well as The Jennifer Hudson Show’s cast and staff for working “like nobody’s business” to put the discussion show together.

Hudson thanked her family, especially her son David, who is “such a soldier,” as she wrapped up her jubilant show introduction.
It’s a huge transition that we’re going for and I’m proud of him for taking this journey with me, so I love my baby,” the Chicago native said after joking that he would “most likely” now attend high school in Los Angeles in light of his mom’s big news. “I want to say thank you to my son who has always been so supportive of his mom and just being such an inspiration of a child and just being there in support,” the mother added.
Hudson elaborated on the renewal in an interview with PEOPLE.
One of the biggest thrills of my career has been working on this programme with my terrific staff and our amazing partners, she said.
