The sassy lengths Alexa Demie flicked around as high school queen bee Maddy Perez in Euphoria are a far cry from her current hairdos. Since she rose to fame, Demie has been a delightfully adventurous newcomer to the Hollywood beauty scene, sporting everything from choppy fringes to slicked-back pixie cuts and extremely straight crops.
While the raven pixie cut she wore earlier this year (along with cargo pants and sunglasses) had shades of Trinity from The Matrix, this week’s Tiffany & Co. party, when she wore a curve-skimming velvet gown with throwback waves, was a melancholy variation on Old Hollywood glamour.
Demie donned a velvety velvet off-the-shoulder corset and matching maxi skirt to the event, both of which were encrusted with Tiffany diamonds. This outfit was a more traditional option than the recent fashion-forward Balenciaga outfits she has sported. Her stylish loose curls, meanwhile, were evocative of Marilyn Monroe’s iconic hairdo.
It all added up to an alternative (and very Halloween-appropriate) homage to Hollywood’s most renowned screen siren with the addition of Alexa’s signature winged eyeliner, slender brows, and dark lined lips – similar to the makeup look she picked for the Academy Museum Gala earlier this month.
