Roots and Mr. Saturday, the label run by Joey Gollish, have collaborated on a brand-new capsule line. The partnership, dubbed “Roots Saturday Airlines,” is motivated by vintage travel and celebrates the Canadian spirit of the two organisations.
The collection, which has a retro design, examines the refined aspects of 1970s aviation travel. Gollish was motivated to create the new service by Roots Air in addition to exploring trip history. The collection includes coats, hoodies with matching sweatpants, and t-shirts in dusty white, sapphire blue, and slate colours.
Retro-futurist graphic designs with the words “See You Soon” and “Good Luck” as well as other co-branded screenprinted details can be seen on all of the collection’s components. Most prominent is a “RSA”-inspired pattern on coats and hoodies that is reminiscent of Pan Am Airways. The black leather jacket with a shearling collar, Dolman sleeves, and an embroidered RSA motif on the back, which pays homage to aviation fashion, is a highlight of the collection.
Accessories including leather passport holders, caps, socks, luggage tags, and a blanket round out the cooperation.
