Kathryn Newton and Paul Rudd are two of Hollywood’s most beloved stars, known for their ability to bring an extra level of excitement to their performances. In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the pair discussed what it means to be extra and the joys that come with it.
“I think being extra is about having fun and not taking yourself too seriously,” Newton said. “It’s about bringing a little bit of energy and excitement to everything you do, whether it’s on screen or off.”
Rudd agreed, adding that being extra is all about embracing your unique quirks and characteristics. “I think we all have a little bit of extra in us,” he said. “It’s about embracing those things that make us stand out and not being afraid to show them off.”
The pair, who star together in the upcoming Marvel film Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, also discussed the importance of having fun on set and making the most of every moment.
“When you’re on a set, it can be a long day, so it’s important to keep things light and have fun,” Newton said. “Paul is amazing at that, he’s always making jokes and keeping everyone in good spirits.”
Rudd, who is known for his comedic chops, agreed, saying that making people laugh is one of the best parts of his job. “I love being able to make people laugh and bring a little bit of joy to their day,” he said. “It’s one of the things I love most about acting.”
As for their upcoming film, Newton and Rudd promised that fans can expect plenty of extra moments and surprises.
“We’re bringing our A-game to this one,” Newton said. “There’s going to be a lot of action, a lot of comedy, and a lot of extra moments that I think fans are going to love.”
Fans of the pair will undoubtedly be eagerly awaiting the release of Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, which is set to hit theaters in February 2023. In the meantime, viewers can catch Newton in the hit HBO series The Undoing and Rudd in the Netflix series Living with Yourself.
