Alan Hamel, Suzanne Somers’ lifelong partner, is receiving love from her.
The Three’s Company alum tweeted a recent photo of herself and her 46-year husband on Thursday along with a flashback image of the two of them.
She captioned the adorable photo, “Still grinning 55 years later #TBT.”
The two are pictured in two decades-old photos: one with them cuddled up on a grey couch, and the other with them dressed all in white in what appears to be a tropical environment.
Since 1968, Somers and Hamel have been dating; they were married in 1977. The actress frequently expresses her love for her husband in front of the public, and in 2020, she uploaded a happy photo to social media to mark their 44th wedding anniversary.
“My sweetheart, @therealalanhamel I am very grateful to be your wife. 53 years of marriage and 44 years of marriage today!” When writing at the time, she added, “I don’t want to be apart from you for a day. Amazing life! Cheers to another year!”
As the Step by Step actress has previously spoken candidly about private moments in the couple’s relationship, the two are still very much in love. On Daily Blast Live in 2021, Somers explained how she and Hamel manage to maintain their spark after so many years.
“I may be in my 70s now, but I always assumed that this decade would end when I entered it. She stated on the show that “Aging is about worn out parts, so your hormones start falling, your nutrition start declining, and your minerals start declining, but it ain’t over if you know how to take care of yourself.”
She went on to reveal the flavorful secret to their long life. “We reared our children, paid for their marriages and studies, and now Al and I are the only ones left. God, we’re having a blast right now. We do have a lot of sex since our relationship is balanced, but I also drink seven times per week. We have a tequila at five every night, so perhaps that explains why we have so much sex.”
Three children—Bruce Somers Jr., Suzanne’s child from a former union, Stephen and Leslie Hamel, who Alan has with his ex-wife Marilyn Hamel—make up the couple’s blended family.
